It fozmed in <br />glacial drift, outwash, and old alluvial strewn deposits derived dominantly <br />fran igneous rocks. The nat:~ve vegetation is mainly pinyon pine, Utah <br />juniper, grasses, an3 shrubs: Elevation is 7,OW to 8,100 feet. The <br />average annral precipitation is 14 co 16 inches, the average annual air <br />temperature is 41 to 44 degrees F, and the average frost-free period is 7U <br />to 110 days. ~. ; <br />•: ; ; <br />Typically, the surface layer is dark brown gravelly loam about 7 inches <br />thick. The subsoil is yellocrish brown very wbbly clay loam S inches thick. <br />The substratum to a depth of 60 inches or more is white extremely cobbly <br />loam. <br />Included in this unit is about 5 percent Callan soils, 5 percent Gurley <br />soils, and 5 percent Sapeha :;oils. <br />Permeability of this Radc:rsburg soil is moaerately slow. Available <br />water capacity is moderate. Effective rooting depth is 60 inches. Auioff <br />is rapid to very rapid, ani t:he hazard of water erosion is moderate to very <br />high. <br />This unit is used for livestock grazing in spring and fall, for wildlife <br />habitat, and for firewood gat:herirg. <br />r <br />I <br />
