CARBON JUNCTION MINE
DRILL HOLE DATA
HOLE 10B
DATE: 1/7/94
LOCATION: North 220,470 ft.
East 1,315,545 ft.
ELEVATION: 7054' Gr.
DRILLER: Leo Beeman
CONTRACTOR: Beeman Brothers Drilling
COMPANY REPS: Jim Hendricks, Darry Ferguson
DRILLING PROGRAM:
Hole 10B waS originally drilled and cored in the early 1980's
and abandoned thereafter. During the permitting for the Carbon
Junction Mine, Oakridge needed a minimum of three monitoring sites
for ground water to project the impact of the mining on the ground
water resources. This is the third of the wells to be used for
monitoring of the resources for the assessment to the hydrologic
balance.
On 1/7/94 Beeman Brothers Drilling aet up on Hole 10B and
reamed to bottom with a 6 1/2 loch bit. Bottom was hit at 405 feet.
Shut down for night. On 1/8/94 established circulation and began
drilling forward. At approximately 410 feet deep coal was
encountered again and was drilled for 10 to 15 feet. The hole was
then drilled to a total depth of 455 feet with the remainder of the
strata being hard sandstone.
Water was standing in the original hole at a depth of 70 feet
deep and was estimated to be produced at some 30 to 40 gpm to the
original hole depth of 405 feet. The following were the amounts of
the water produced at various depths beginning at the initial total
depth of the hole. After drilling the hole was drilled and cased
with 4" PVC slotted pipe and a metal cap was installed for surface
protection. The well is set for longterm monitoring for ground
water.
DEPTH TIME DATE TIME FOR 6 GAL.
