• The monitoring plan which: follows is presented in five parts.
Section 1 describes NaTec's proposed ground water monitoring
program and Section 2 describes NaTec's proposed surface water
monitoring plan. Section 3 addresses NaTec's plans to monitor
subsidence and determine final cavity configuration. Section 4
presents a description of NaTec's proposed mud gel monitoring
plan. Section 5 summarizes biological programs. Finally, the
Appendix summarizes regulatory requirements.
BECTION 1 - GROUND WATER MONITORING PLAN
. 1.0 Ground Water Monitoring Well Locations
Pursuant to BLM and EPA requirements, ground water monitoring
wells will be established both within the well field (well field
monitor wells) and outside the area of influence of the well
field operations and the zone of influence of potential
subsidence (dedicsated monitor wells). The well field monitor
wells will be constructed in a manner which enables monitoring
two ground water zones which are 20 foot intervals overlying the
Dissolution Surface and the B-Groove (Figure 1). The dedicated
monitor wells will monitor four zones which are 20 foot
intervals overlying the Dissolution Surface, the B-Groove, the
A-Groove, and F~erched aquifer (Figure 1). Moreover, the
• dedicated wells will be located both up-gradient (with respect
3
rte.. ,. _
