Mr. Steve S. Shuey
Division of Minerals and Geology
December 14, 1999
As part of this monthly report and in accordance with the 9360 Level Adit Closure
Monitoring Plan, dated April 1998, Windy Gulch monitoring was continued during this
period. A water quality sample (WGL Weir) was collected on November 4, 1999.
Significant freezing of Windy Gulch was observed in early November 1999.
Consequently, the instrumentation recording flow measurements at WGL Weir was
removed to prevent damage, and continuous flow monitoring, initiated in April 1999,
was discontinued for the winter. Figure 2 summarized the flow through the weir up to
November 4, 1999.
Thank you for your time and attention on this matter. If you have any questions,
please contact me at (505) 287-4456.
Sincerely,
cc: A. Cox, HMC an Francisco
F. Martinez, Alamosa BLM
D.
