(el Any other aspect of the dam or embankment efTectine stability.
,~
Burrowing activity by rodents adversely affects the stability of the dam. The degree of effect due to burrowing
activity on the stability of the dam is unknown. This item is the subject of a Notice of Violation (NOV), being
processed under separate cover. Repair of the dam has been recommended. Trapping of muskrat and erection
of raptor perches to inhibit rodent activity has been recommended.
Erosion of the upstream face of the dam adversely affects the stability of the dam. This item is the subject
of a NOV, being processed under separate cover. Repair (restoration) and enhanced protection of the
upstream face of the dam has been recommended.
Disintegration of riprap in the bottom of the emergency spillway is also the subject of a NOV. A current
analysis suggests that a lack of competent riprap in the bottom of the emergency spillway would not affect the
stability of the dam with respect to a 25-year, 24-hour storm event, under current contributing watershed
conditions. ATechnical Revision, reflecting the recent demonstration, is being submitted under separate cover
in response to the NOV.
-~ y8 rott G.
