Due to the potential for adverse affects on dam stability, monitoring of desiccation cracks, vegetation <br />recovery on the downstream face, and burrowing activity has been recommended. in the event the cracks open, <br />filling with a soil cement slurry has been recommended. In the event that current re-vegetation efforts on the <br />downstream face of the dam are unsuccessful, the use of fertilizer and excelsior mats in addition to re-seeding <br />has been recommended.
