Walther
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cottony
Division DireROr
The Division of Minerals and Geology has reviewed the Discharge Monitoring Report
(DMR) for the Rimrock Strip Mine for the 1st quarter of 2003. Also reviewed was the 3rd
quarter 2002 DMR .
The reports comply with the requirements of Rule 4.05.13(2)(a)(iii)(A) for submittal of
completed forms to meet NPDES permit requirements. The notation "No discharge'
agrees with the Division's observations through field inspections. Please ensure that
the periodic visits to check for pond discharge meet the requirements of your Colorado
Discharge permit and the discharges are sampled when, and if, they occur.
We have no further questions at this time. Thank you for your diligence in pursuing your
monitoring and reporting as required.
Sinter ly, ~~'
Ken A. Gorham
Environmental Protection Specialist 11
