The <br />mine site is reola®ed. The permit and band have btrm rovaked. The gate s< Rosa county road No. 27 wu <br />krdmd. Mr. Phil George of Cross Mouadin Ranch provided the combination to the lock ro albw for DMG <br />acoeas. A representative of Cross Mountain Ranch wu encountered at the ckrse of the inepectioa. This <br />individual was checlung on catlb grazing en the mine sits and wrrounding aura. WeaWer was clear and warm. <br />The mine was dry at the t®e of tho inspection. <br />The Division has re-iseuod tho rogneat for bide for meintm~nce work on the site. Closing dato for roceipt of bids <br />u August 31,1999. Tha Division expects ro have mainbeneneo work conducted this fall with consultation with <br />the Imdowner. <br />Signs: The Division has erected a sign at the janctiam of access road >b pits 2/3 and pile S & 6. This sign <br />provides public information regardmg the Division's muagament of the revoked site sad address and telephone <br />number of the Division for contact purposes. One more sign will be erected along the roadway ro pit 4. <br />Roads: Access road to pit 4 has had heavy cattle use. Golly on inside road switchback has not enlarged. Htll <br />slope on South side of road continues ro slough onto road. Natural springs along road continuo to produce water <br />and water is directed across the roadway via the rorat waterbars. Road remains accessible ell the way ro Pit 4 and <br />Pond 4. Access road ro pits 2 8 3 remain in fnv condition. Natural spring continues ro dram across road but <br />rutting remains minimal. Access road ro pit 1 is inecceserbk vie vehicle. This road has not boon requested by the <br />landowner ro provide vehicle access ro pit 1. Access ro pit 1 by foot end animal (cattle or sheep) u sell <br />functional. Access road ro pits 5 and 6 remainavr good condition. <br />Hydrologic Balance: Pond 4 is dry. Repair work is planned for this pond this fall. The breach in the ditch north <br />of pond 4 does not appear ro have enlarged. Repay ro this ditch is planned as we1L Livestock has tramplod ditch <br />at pit 5 that drains the apo8 spring to pond 5. Riprap ofthia ditch has held up quite weD. Pond 5 confaina water <br />and wee discharging chtar effluent at the time of the inspection. <br />Slides: The leadslide downslope of pond 4 does not appear ro have enlarged. A small slope failure wu noted on <br />tho west side of the accuse road to pits 5 8t 6. This elido originates in undisturbed ground and does not appear to <br />be mining related. <br />Vegetation: Mine silo was very dry. Cattle were observed at pit 4 at the time of the inspection. Vegetation cover <br />is low and grazing is evident. Height of dominant Bromegrass is approx. 4-6 inches tell. In pit 4 Fescue appear <br />ro be soloctivoly grazod. <br />Reclamation Success: Maintenmce items planned for Fall are restricted to minor repairs ro pond 4 end access <br />roads. Jn spite of low vegetalive cover, rill and gully formation was not apparent. Few weed patches <br />encountered. Weed species that were encountered appear limited ro Houndstongue, Canada tfiisttc and Musk <br />thistle. Weed patches are not extensive and aro of limited extent.
