666
III IIIIIIIIIIiII III
November 27, 2001
Ms. Carla Lenkey
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
Water Quality Control Division -Permits and Enforcement
4300 Cherry Creek Drive South
Denver, CO 80222-1530
RE: PERMIT CO-0027154; OCTOBER 2001 DMR SUBMITTAL
Dear Ms. Lenkey:
AECF~~~O
Nov ~9 20or
Div~srbnolM~~~a/gd ~
~'b9Y
Please find enclosed the above referenced discharge monitoring report for the period October 1, 2001 through October 31,
2001. During this period, only ponds A (Outfall 001), B (Oudall 003), D (Outfall 005), and E (Oulfall 006) discharged fo Foidel
Creek. No permit excursions were noted for this period. Outfall 001 discharged once during the week of October 1 ", which
allowed for onl~ one sample to be collected and analyzed this month. Outfall 003 discharged only during the weeks of
October 8'", 15 22 n0, and 29 `" ,which allowed two samples to be collected and analyzed, as the permit requires. Outfalls
005 and 006 discharged during each week in October, which allowed for two samples to be collected from 005 and one
sample to be collected from 006 and analyzed, as the permit requires.
Please note that the DMR forms we received for Outfall 001A include an erroneous parameter listing of total recoverable
manganese. This is not a required monitoring parameter under the permit, as such, a not applicable ("NA") symbol has been
inserted into the data entry areas for this parameter.
Outfalls 002, 004, 007, 008, and 009 did not discharge; and therefore had no chemical tests during this period. Outfall 020
has not been constructed yet; therefore there is no discharge to enable chemical testing to date. Points 010, 016 and 017
have been eliminated from this permit. In order to reduce the amount of paper work, the following certification will be
substituted for the actual DMR forms to cover the outfalls, which did not discharge.
CERTIFICATION
l certify under Pena/ty o/law that I have personally examined and am /amiliar with the information submitted herein; and
based on my inquiry o/ those individuals responsible for obtaining the information, I believe the submitted information is
true, accurate, and complete. I am aware that there are significant penalties for submitting false information, including the
possibility o(fine and imprisonment. See 18 U.S.C. § 1001 and 33 U.S.C. § 7319.
