The required fee of $217.00 for the renewal of this substitute supply plan has been
submitted. The original supply plan was approved on April 30, 2001 and most recently renewed
on November 23, 2004.
Depletions
This plan describes the actual uses for 2003, 2004, 2005 and the projected uses for 2006.
According to the information submitted, no water surface was exposed within the permit boundary
prior to January 1, 1981.
Mining at the site may be done under wet conditions with a dredge directly exposing
groundwater or under dry conditions by dewatering the pit area. The area of exposed
groundwater specified in the plan assumes that the area will be mined under wet conditions.
The anticipated consumptive use for 2006 consists of 31.71 acre-feet of evaporation loss
from a maximum exposed area of 13.5 acres, 19.13 acre-feet lost in product (4% moisture of
650,000 tons of raw material) and 5.0 acre-feet of water used for dust control (total 55.84 acre-
feet). The exposed pond area gradually increases from 7.23 acres in January 2006 to 13.5 acres
in December 2006. See the table below for the area exposed monthly.
The depletions were lagged io the stream using a Glover analysis and assuming a
distance to the stream of 2,900 feet, distance to the impermeable boundary of 16,100 feet,
permeability of 1,043 ft/day, saturated thickness of 20 feet and specific yield of 0.2. The Applicant
has provided a monthly schedule of lagged actual depletions to the river system, together with a
schedule of replacement requirements. This plan accounts for actual depletions determined to
accrue to the steam system during this plan period.
