Donald E. Frick, E.I.T.
South Platte Combined Replacement Plan
November 14, 2006
The required fee of $3472 (16 sites x $217/site renewal fee) has been submitted. A fee
was not required for the Hazeltine Pit, Tucson South Pit and the East 8"' Street Pit since they
were previou ly_appioved,as new plans with atwo-year approval period. The approval of their
operation in t~s~'pl9n approval does not extend beyond their current plan's expiration date.
t r •:~r,.
~:(il ::{
Mining and reclamation has been completed at the Teti Pit, North Dahlia Pit and the
Larson Pit. At'the F-Street Pit and Stegner Pit, mining has been completed and reclamation is
currently underway. Depletions that result from past operations at those sites are included in
this substitute water supply plan ("SWSP"). Final reclamation for ali of the pits, other than the
Larson Pit, includes either lining or backfilling of the ground water lakes. Aggregate is currently
working with the owner of the Larson pit to file an application with the water court for a
permanent plan of augmentation to replace evaporation depletions at the site.
The Loloff Pit has not been active for several years, and Aggregate will not be mining
this site again in the future. The Jeronimus pit is also currently not active and the Lawrence
Wash Plant was backfilled in April 2006. Aggregate anticipates completion of mining at the
Platte Valley Pit in 2006. The pit is currently dew8tering but will be allowed to fill upon
completion of mining thereby increasing the exposed surtace area. Aggregate has accounted
for the increased surface area beginning in January 2006. There is currently ground water
exposed at these sites. If the sites will no longer be mined, Aggregate must either fine or
backfill the lakes or file an application for a plan of augmentation with the water court. Prior to
:.. further.plah approvals the applicant must demonstrate that the sites are being lined or backfilled
or that an application for a plan of augmentation has been fil$d with the water court.
Mining at the Tusson. South Pit ana Tull Pit will not: begiri until after 2006.
The final reclamation plan for each'site, the bond amount and the water commitment to
replace depletions in the event that the operator ceases dewatering and walks away from the
site is shown in Table 2 below.
Table 2

Site Name
DMG # Final
Reclamation
Bond Amount
Ditch RI hts CommittedlComments
Lawrence Wash Plant N/A Backfill
Teti Pit M-99-090 Backfill $10,000.00
North Dahlia Pit M-94-093 Reservoir $811,100.00
Fulton Lakes Pit M-99-034 Reservoir $1,510,800.00
Jeronimus Pit N/A Reservoir
Hazeltine Pit M-04-031 Reservoir 670,602.00
Bri hton Pit M-77-436 Reservoir 1,579,400.00
Tucson South Pit M-04-044 Reservoir $994,423.00
Tucson Pit M-91-140 Reservoir $811,000.00
Wattenber Pit M-01-008 Reservoir Westminster 1998 Lease 294.79 ac-ft
Platte Valle Pit M-89-120 O en Lake $754,732.00
Distel Pit M-89-029 O en Lake 52.5% Coffin & Davis DRch 172.2 ac-ft CU
Tull Pit M-94-027 O en Lake 1 Share Smith & Emmons Ditch 61.1 ac-ft
Larson Pit M-90-007 O en Lake
Ste ner Pit M-99-021 Reservoir $184,664.00
W.W.
