None of the humidity cell tests have been halted -they are <br />continuing as the OMLR was clearly informed during the meeting. <br />APPENDIX 10 <br />Dr. Posey continues "Therefore, it should be obvious that the waste rock will produce acid if <br />not protected from weathering and release of solution. Even for most of the humidity cell <br />tests that were curtailed after only 4 to 12 weeks, acid production is high (pH low). Given <br />these data, it would be impossible to honestly and knowingly conclude that the surface and <br />groundwaters can be adequately protected simply with a monitoring program, as CC&V [has] <br />proposed." CC&V's examination of the humidity cell data indicates to it that water quality <br />from the waste rock will approximate water quality from the diatreme itself, as that water <br />quality is represented by surface-water samples collected at AG-1 and ground-water samples <br />collected in Arequa Gulch as reported in Applications for Amendments 5 and 6. The surface <br />water data were reported earlier in this response. The ground-water data are reiterated in the <br />following tabulation (Table 5). <br />TABLE 5.
