The required fee of $217.00 forthe renewal of this substitute supply plan has been
submitted (receipt no. 546954). The original supply plan was approved on September 27, 2004.
Plan Operation
The mining plan includes a slurry wall around the perimeter of the site during mining.
The slurry wall was constructed this past summer and it is anticipated that the liner will be
approved by the end of March 2006. All mining will be accomplished using a dry mining method.
The plan includes a rinse water lagoon and dewatering pond contained within the slurry wall with
a combined exposed surface area of 2 acres. Other consumptive uses at the site include dust
control and water removed in product.
Water pumped from the dewatering pond will be discharged into the Henderson Water
Ski Lake ("Ski lake"), a reclaimed and unlined gravel pit. Evaporative losses from the Ski Lake
are augmented under division 1 Water Court case no. 82CW393. According to the plan and
based on site observations of the Ski Lake, no significant increase in evaporation will occur from
the lake as a result of discharging water to the Ski Lake.
W ater for dust control at the site will be pumped from well no. 10899-RR. A well permit
application is currently pending to expand the use of the well to include dust control. According
to the plan, depletions resulting from pumping well no. 10899-RR for dust control purposes will
be replaced by the Subdistrict of the Central Colorado Water Conservancy District pursuant to
the decree granted in Division 1 Water Court case no. 02CW335. Therefore depletions resulting
from pumping well no. 10899-RR for dust control purposes will not be replaced pursuant to this
plan.
