The detection levels, however, were Beater than the in-strea
standards. In accordance with Division procedures, no determination of water quality is made when the detection levels are greater than the in
stream standards.
Note 3: Hardness data were collected at monitoring location TR-D, located approximately 4,000 feet below Outfall 004.
Noce 4: Samples were collected from USGS station 09244464, Hubberson Gulch near Hayden, CO.
Note 5: Samples were collected from USGS station 09060500, Rock Creek near Toponas, CO.
III. Water Quantity
The Colorado Regulations specify the use of low flow conditions when establishing water quality
based effluent limitations, specifically the acute and chronic low flows. The acute low flow, referred
to as 1 E3, represents the one-day low flow recurring in athree-year interval. The chronic low flow,
30E3, represents the 30-day average low flow recurring in a three-year interval.
Low Flow Analysis 004
Because Outfa11004 discharges to an unnamed tributary approximately 0.1 miles upstream from its
confluence with Trout Creek, past permits have modeled Outfa11004 as if it discharged directly to
Appendix A twQn aF vers;on a-s FABt.> Page 7 of 19 Last Revised September 2, 2005
