Stream segment COUCYA13c is designated as a water supply
because the Town of Oak Creek may withdraw water from Trout Creek for domestic use. However,
the water supply intake is located upstream of the Edna Mine discharge locations. Additionally, the
downstream segment COUCYA13b, which begins approximately eight miles downstream of the
Edna Mine, is not designated for water supply use. Because there are no existing public water supply
intakes on Trout Creek or tributaries downstream from the proposed facility prior to the confluence
with Fish Creek, standards for sulfate, dissolved iron and dissolved manganese based on water
supply standards are not applied. However, the chronic dissolved manganese standard based on
Table Value Standards (TVS) does apply, as it is not dependent upon water supply use.
Appendix A twQA se vers;o~ a-s ensL> Page 4 of 19 Last Revised September 2, 2005
