Summary of Depletions of Streamflows in the UCRB due to CYCC
Mining Activity Authorized Under Permit 79-177
1
Evaporative Losses
Dead Storage Losses
Dust Control
Operations
Total Depletions
110.7 acre-feet/year
7.6 acre-feet/year
20 acre-feet/year
11 acre-feet/year
149.3 acre-feet/year
Lease 26914
The newly acquired lease 26914 is a 30 acre tract within the boundary of
Permit 79-177. Fourteen (14) acres of the 30 acre tract are within the Pond A
Watershed and 16 acres are within the Pond E Watershed. CYCC has assumed for
this analysis that evaporative and dead storage losses due to the 30 acre
tract are a fixed fraction of losses in Watersheds A and E. For example, 0.4Y
of the area of the Pond A Watershed is associated with the 30 acre tract.
Thus, evaporative losses due to the Pond A portion of the 30 acre tract are
0.4% of evaporative losses at Pond A. Similarly, the 30 acre tract comprises
0.5% of the entire Permit area. Thus, depletions due to dust control and
operations associated with the 30 acre tract have been calculated as 0.5% of
dust control and operations depletions for the entire mine. Total depletions
due to mining associated with Lease 26914 are estimated as 0.48 acre feet per
year, as shown in Table 3.
-4-
