DISCUSSION: <br />Applicable effluent limitations and monitoring requirements regarding <br />active mining oucfalls are addressed in Par[ I.B.'_(a) and I.B.3(a) <br />respectively of the general permit. <br />Toca1 dissolved solids monitoring of the discharge shall be performed. <br />Total phosphorus monitoring shall not be per=ormed. See page 3 of the <br />general permit for more informat'_on. <br />The Permittze will be required co develop and implement a Story i:ater <br />Management Plan (SWMP). Although some activic'_zs may already be in place, <br />the SWMP will require the Permittee co coordinate bey[ management <br />practices so the result is a reduction or eLiminacion of pollutants <br />reaching state water from areas not Limited by effluent limitations. The <br />permictee will be required co submit the Sw'MP co the Division for review <br />within six months from the dace certification is issued. For specifics of <br />the Plan and additional raquiremencs, please reference the Part I.B.2 of <br />the general permit. <br />The permictee will not be raquir_d to perform 'dhole Effluent Toxicity <br />(WET) testing pursuant co Section 6.9.i("_)(a)(i)(A) of the Regulations for <br />the State Discharge Permit System 6.1.0 (5 CCR 1002-2) which exempts <br />facilities certifizd under the general permit. <br />VII. SPECIFIC INFORMATION OF CONCERN TO THE PER.MITTEE: <br />The permictee is encouraged co read the general rationale for an <br />understanding of how the general permit ~.ras developed and to road the <br />permit itself to sae what raquiremencs exist. Effluent limitations and <br />monitoring requirzments are spec'_f'_ed in Parc I.B, and special <br />notification reeuirements for effluent violations are addressed in ?art <br />II.A.3. <br />Based on the above information.
