The first is
arc inspection report on the installation of pipe for reacher; 4
and 6 as specified in the mine's drainage plan. The second is a
letter discussing the appropriate size for tFse waste pile toe
drain. The thirrl is a letter addressing the Contaminant
Containrnerrt Plan for the mine.
In addition to these issues I am uncertain on hour to proceed
with the As-Built plans you requested for the drainage ponds. As
you pointed out the west pond spillway crest is at an elevation
wtsich does rsot allay 1 ft. of freeboard to the tap of the
ernbankrnerrt. Jirn Deluzio and I have looked at this an he Fras
agreed to lower the ,pillway r_rest plate to meet this
requirement. Based on year survey data the spillway is currently
at elevation 7500 ft. (relative to our ass~arned datum} with a
volurrre of 1.86 AF. If the crest is lowered 1 ft. it will be at
elevation 7499 ft. with an a,sociated pond volume of 1.50 AF.
This volurrre is still greater tkran the required volume of 1.15 AF
as stated in the drainage report.
Since the lowering of the spillway crest has not yet been
completed I cannot submit As-Builts. Unless otherwise directed I
will wait to submit these plans until the construction is
carnpleted.
I will be out of town next week, May 31 through June 4, so I
will r_•ontar_•t yora the following week to di ,cuss these issues.
Sincerely,
C./
Dorr R.
