In my inspection report from 5/16/95, I commented
that the secondary spillways appeared stable; however, the material utilized as riprap was
either undersized or incompetent in nature and was decomposing. Maintenance of the
riprap linings will be necessary to ensure that spillways continue to function as designed.
During our conversation from 5/26/95, you stated that your intentions were to replace
the weathered material with durable riprap this summer. Your proposal to hold off on
riprap replacement until dry weather affords more favorable field conditions is prudent.
Please proceed with your maintenance plan as soon as field conditions allow.
Please contact me if I can be of further service.
Sincerely,
Wallace H.
