Split spoon samples and auger
cuttings indicated that a tan sandy loam extends from the surface to a depth of 3 feet. The loam
is underlain by a 2 feet thick layer of moist tan clay, containing angular sand. This layer is
underlain by 2 feet of moist tan clay containing alluvial gravel (<I.0-inch diameter), which is
underlain by dark tan to gray siltstone. A water seep was encountered between 5 and 7 feet
depth. No unusual staining or odors were observed in any of the split spoon samples or auger
cuttings. Hnu readings were indicative of background soil conditions (<0.5 ppm).
Well DFMW - 3
Monitoring well DFMW-3 was drilled to a depth of 15 feet. Split spoon samples and auger
cuttings indicated that a moist, brown silty clay extends 5-feet from the surface. The silty clay
is underlain by 2 feet of moist, tan clay, which is underlain by 3 feet of saturated dark brown
clay, and 3 feet of saturated yellow silty clay. The clays are underlain by a dry, dark gray
siltstone. Water was encountered at a depth of 10-feet. No unusual odors or soil staining were
observed in any of the split spoon samples or auger cuttings. Hnu readings indicated background
• soil conditions (0.5 ppm).
Well DFMW - 4
Monitoring well DFMW-4 was drilled to a depth of 15 feet. Split spoon samples and well cuttings
indicated that a moist, brown sandy loam extends 3 feet from the surface. The brown sandy
loam is underlain by 2 feet of moist, tan silty clay, which is underlain by 5 feet of saturated tan
silty clay. The saturated clays are underlain by saturated silty clays containing alluvial gravel
(<1.0-inch diameter). Water was encountered at a depth of 6 feet. No unusual odors or soil
staining were observed in any of the split spoon samples or well cuttings. Hnu readings indicated
background soil conditions (0.5 ppm).
Piojed N~bc 76t~47-0IS
7u~ 11, 19G0
• Page S
