.,
target level of 0.005 mg/I. In addition other metals, also present in small amounts,
will produce unreactive complexes and as such would lower the WAD Cyanide
value even lower than the iron only complex.
The analysis of the three quarters of data also indicates that the level of the
trace metals of concern in the cold water biotica guidelines are also below the
published guidelines. These two observations [the WAD-CN of <0.005 and the
absence of trace metals] fulfill the guidelines for determing that the abandoned
heap leach pad has been detoxified. A telephone discussion with Dr .Harry Posey,
of the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology, on September 3, 1996,
confirmed these conclusions. Dr. Posey agreed with the conclusion that the heap
leach pad has been detoxified in accordance with the target of a WAD Cyanide
value of less than 0.005 mg/I and undetected or below guidelines levels of trace
metals.
If you have any other questions please give me a call and may I again thank
you and your company far your selection of CDS for your analytical and
consultation needs.
