In completing my certification, I have
conducted an inspection of the D-Portal Sediment Control Pond and
construction site.
The dam inspecticn sho:•~ed no problems concerning cracking, erosion,
rodent activity, or displacements in the following areas; upstream
face, downstream face, and the crest. No seepage was located on
any of the dam areas. The outlet conduit was in good shape and no
leakage was noted. The emergency spillway showed no signs of
deterioration or erosion and the riprap was in good condition. No
effluent quantity of color could be noted at inspection time, since
the pond was not discharging at the outlet.
The top soil pile for this area has been seeded and shows stable
vegetation growth. Removal and stock piling of: all organic
material and topsoil prior to water impounding has been completed.
Deserado Mine
P.O. Box 1067
Rangely.
