F.'1HTRTT P
fli ning Plan
The Saguache County P.oad Department is planning expansion of the existing
gravel pit as an emeryency or back up source of gravel on the eastern side of
the county. ill ning will proceed in a north-south direction progressing westward
across the area proposed for pit expansion. Dep ttt of the gravel deposit extends
to thirty (30) feet belol~~ the surface adjacent to the existiny pit and tapers to
approximately fifteen (15) feet belo~~r the surface at the western boundary of the
permit area. Topsoil will be removed and stockpiled prior to surface
disturbance. A rubber fire loader will be used year-round to dig and load loose
material into twelve (12) yard tandem dump trucks or six (6) yard single axle trucks,
depending on the work being preformed. During operations, slopes will be backsloped
to facilitate reclamation (See Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan).
