1
' EXHIBIT H -WILDLIFE INFORMATION
Wildlife habitat is non-existent over most of the area proposed for mining, because of a thick
gravel and sand cover. However, wildlife occurs in the area in general, and use habitats that
' occur in close proximity to the mine site.
Elk (Wapiti) and mule deer move through the area, primarily in summer,' and raptors that
' include red-tailed hawks, rough-legged hawks, American kestrel, and several owl species occur
. in the area. Other species that would be expected include passerine birds, small mammals
(voles, mice, shrews), and furbearers (e.g., coyotes, red fox). The area is frequented by golden
' eagles, bald eagles1 and peregrine falcons2 during hunting forays, but no nesting sites are known
to occur in the vicinity of the proposed mine site.
L'

' 'Elkins, Mark.
