<br /> 6.2 - 4lATER <br /> a. Hydrology and !dater Quality - The mining operation will be in compli- <br /> ante with applicable water laws and regulations governing injury to <br />' existing water rights. The mining and reclamation operations will <br /> not require the use of any water, nor will the maintenance of the <br />' proposed conservation/wildlife habitat. The operation will also be in <br /> compliance with applicable federal and state water quality laws and reg- <br />' ulations. Although there are no plans to de-water the pit and discharge <br />' to "state waters", a NPDES permit will be obtained and sufficient treat- <br /> ment of the discharge water will be performed to meet permit limitations <br /> (See Water Management Plan). <br /> The operation will be in compliance with Section 404 dredge and <br />' fill regulations in that there will be no discharges of dredged or fill <br /> material into the Cache La Poudre River. There will not be any tempor- <br />' <br /> ary or large siltation structures constructed. <br /> b. Earth Dams - There will be no construction of earth dams for purposes <br /> of mining or reclamation of the gravel pit. <br /> <br /> 6.3 - 41ILDLIFE <br /> a. Safety and Protection -Any existing wildlife species which must be <br /> kept safe and protected are located on adjacent property and not on <br />' the site. No new access roads will be constructed. P.lthough there may <br />' have been some wildlife species which used the crops as temporary cover, <br /> there will be no significant impact on wildlife. <br /> b. Habitat Management and Creation - The reclaimed site will consist of <br /> several ponds. Adjacent areas will be left in their natural state. In <br /> order to minimize the impact from traffic on the adjacent county roads, <br /> screening mounds revegetated with tress, shrubs and grasses will be con- <br /> structed. <br />1 <br />
