PE
PRESIDENT
This letter transmits our report, "Engineering Geologic
Mapping, Yoast Mine and Vicinity, Routt County, Colorado."
The report and accompanying maps describe our geologic
findings for certain proposed facilities. These facilities include
a haul-road alignment connecting the mine with Routt County Road
27, a sedimentation pond site, and a number of top-soil stockpile
areas.
• The Haul Road A alignment traverses an area composed mainly of
soil and colluvium derived largely from shale with a lesser amount
derived from sandstone. Haul Road B consists primarily of
sandstone with relatively minor interbeds of shale and their
weathered products. This segment (B) of the alignment will
encounter more varied geology and topography than segment A.
Geologic structure is more critical to the development of Haul Road
B than is the case along the A alignment.
The proposed sedimentation pond is in a geologically sound
site. The top-soil stockpile sites also are located in areas that
appear to be geologically sound.
If during the design and construction phases of the project
significant departures are found from what is presented in this
report, it will be advisable to contact us for further geologic
inputs.
It has been a pleasure to work with you on this project and I
wish you well in its ultimate development.
Sincerely,
AMUEDO AND IVEY, INC.
•
Jo n B.
