I ask you to consider the following:
Will Castle Concrete revegetate the area so that it will not be such an
eyesore and so that it will not be a dust and drainage hazard for people who
live below the operation? Supposedly, they are revegetating the arezi they
have already mined, but it appears the "scars" are getting bigger and bigger.
tf they are in fact revegetating the area, it is not apparent. I drove very close
to the operation a few weeks ago and was appalled at how ugly and dwsty the
area is, and could not imagine what could grow on that barren earth tfuey have
left behind.
I appreciate the fact that Castle Concrete is in business to make money---but
I do not believe that any business, individual, or government has the right to
make money at the expense of the environment. Some sort of compromise must be
worked out and I sincerely believe that Castle Concrete operations shauld NOT
expand UNTIL they have completely restored the present scar areas to an
acceptable state of revegetation.
The front range of Colorado is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Do
you really consider that gravel is more important to the people of Colorado than
the natural beauty of the area? Please, please, consider this matter carefully
before you approve the expansion of operations.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
?~
rs. ody Hansen
~ .ems.. m~ -~.c~ .~. cQe~, ,.~co ,d~,~- ,~„_._;~
?,vim a,~...R. ,tk~ p.~~~ m~> ~ a~~d..
