Collins, CO 80525
Re: Coal Creek Resource
Dear Mike:
With tYlis letter you will find a map and cross-sections of Coal
Creek Resource. These drawings reflect the discussions we had at
your office on November 16, 1993. Specifically we will continue to
mine irr the Creek channel to a maximum depth of eight feet below
the base of the tree groups. Our profiles of the groundwater table
show that some trees may experience stress and these trees are
noted on the mining plan. In addition, mining will occur on the
east side uplands to a depth no lower than the trees. we will
install. two more well transects containing four wells each at the
locations noted.
The mining will continue for ten more years and we want the
operation to be flexible to data from the groundwater monitoring
wells and the behavior of the trees.
I hope to have a meeting with the State Board of Land Commissioners
on December 15, 1993, to present this revised mining plan for their
approved. I would appreciate a letter from you endorsing this
mining plan prior to this meeting. You are of course invited to
this meeting and I will inform you of any further meetings.
Cordially:
TUTTLE APPLEGATE, INC.
GJT/sjr
Encs.
cc: File #92-155
Carl Palizzi, Jones Fine Sand
Jim Barrett, Centennial Materials
V~~ ~
Ga~J,.
