Dear Mr. Ferguson:
As we discussed Friday evening, I have completed my preliminary adequacy
review for the application you prepared on behalf of the Great Guennol
Mining Company. The plan looks very good, except for a few details, which
I will Zist below:
1. The mining plan should provide a better discussion of the rock materials
to be dumped in the waste piles. A scaled sketch of the three permitted
areas must show these dumps and the dumpsite foundation and dump construc-
tion should be discussed.
2. Water encountered in the mine should be discussed and an analysis of
these waters would be very helpful in assessing long-term effects on the
prevailing hydrologic balance.
3. What areas will be revegetated? These areas should be delineated on
a map.
4. The proposed seed mix looks very heavy in Mountain Bromegtass. We
suggest you revise this mixture to reduce the Afountain Bromegrass and
include some Western wheatgrass, Bluegrass, a little Yellow Sweetclover
and some Mountain Snowberry.
This application is scheduled for presentation at the September 23-29 MLR
Board meeting. It is important that the concerns expressed above be re-
solved prior to September 21, 1981. You must also provide evidence that
the public notice requirements of Rule 3.2 have been satisfied prior to
9~ September 21, 1981.
