obtaining the samples. Samples obtained for laboratory analysis are properly
preserved upon collection to ensure accurate analytical results.
Data collection will cor.~tinue throughout the life of the mine. If the water
quality deviates significantly from baseline, sampling frequency may increase as
directed by the BLM. WRN will propose monitoring changes if variations in
water quality or flows are not natural fluctuations and are attributed to, or a
result of WRN's mining operation. This approach would base changes in
monitoring frequency on measured differences rather than from natural
occurrences unrelated to WRN's operation. WRN will continuously monitor
precipitation data with at least one station on the sodium lease area.
2.3 Monitoring Report;
Because of the delay in analysis and reporting surface water data, the reports are
submitted annually and generally 9-12 months after the end of the water year or
September 30. This report will be submitted to the BLM within 30 days of
receipt from the USGS. Pursuant to BLM stipulations WRN will notify the
authorized officer withni 10 days of the occurrence of any significant changes to
the hydrology system.
30
