Stover & Associates
2768 Compass Drive, Suite 101
Grand Junction, CO 81506
RE: Water Sample Results; Terror Creek Loadout; File No. C-83-059
Dear Mr. Stover;
Enclosed are the partial results of the water sample taken during
the Division's inspection on September 10, 1992. The sample was
taken at the culvert at the west end of the permit area at the rail
spur. The culvert is directly across from the dugout pond. I am
not sure if this is the culvert that you intend to sample to meet
the demonstration for a Small Area Exemption, or if the sample will
be taken from the culvert that is to the east.
Results are given for settleable solids and suspended solids.
Settleable solids are below the exceedance limit and suspended
solids are well within the acceptable range. The water is most
likely irrigation water; however, some water could be from the
outslope of the coal pad. The Department of Health laboratory
currently has a delay on metals testing due to an abundance of work
and a shortage of staff. These results will be provided once the
Division has received them. No problems are expected.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Christine E.
