2.0 GROUND-WATER LEVELS <br />Water levels or water pressure have been measured in 37 wells at Trapper Mine. <br />Wells GD-2, GF-1, GF-3, GP-3, GP-4, and well 81-03a are flowing wells and pressure <br />readings on these wells have been converted to static water head in feet above land <br />surface. Well GD-1(2) is not measured for water level because a pump is installed in this <br />well. Wells GA-1 and GA-2 were destroyed by mining in 1996 (see Hydro-Engineering, <br />L.L.C., 1997 for where these two wells were located). <br />The locations of these monitoring wells are shown on enclosed Maps No. 2-1 <br />through 2-3. Wells GD-1 (2) and GF-1 are completed in the Twenty Mile Sandstone, while <br />well GF-2 is completed below the R coal in the U aquifer system. Seven wells, GA-1, GE-1, <br />GD-2, GF-6, GP-1, GP-5, and GP-6 are used to monitor the QR aquifer. Wells GD-3 and <br />• GF-11 are completed in backfill derived from the QR aquifer and, therefore, are also used <br />to monitor the QR aquifer. Wells GA-2, GB-1, GF-3, GP-2, GP-4, and GP-8 are used to <br />monitor the KLM aquifer. Seven wells, GB-5, GC-1, GE-2, GF-4, GP-3, GP-7, and GMP-1 <br />are used to observe changes in the HI aquifer. Wells GF-5 and GF-7 are completed in <br />backfill material derived from the HI aquifer and are also used to monitor the HI aquifer. <br />Wells GB-2, GC-2, GE-3, P-8, 81-03A, and GP-9 are used to monitor the 3rd White <br />Sandstone aquifer. Well GE-3 is completed in both the 2nd and 3rd white sandstone and <br />well P-5 are completed in the 2nd White Sandstone between the G and F coals, while <br />GLUX-1 is used to monitor the 1st White Sandstone. Well P-3 is perforated in the Lewis <br />Shale. Four alluvial wells, COY, GC-3, P-1 and J-1, are used to monitor the Flume, Pyeatt, <br />and Johnson alluviums. <br /> <br />2-1 <br />
