The conclu-
sions ,uui recommendations inciuded herein arc haled on an analy-
sis of the data obtained from our field explorations, laboratory
teslir.g Program, and on our experience with similar soil and
geologir_ conditions in the area.
The scope of our geotechnica.i explora-
riot, consisted of a surface reconr,ai~sance, subsurface explora-
lion, obtaining representative samples, laboratory testing,
analysis of field and laboratory data, and a review of geologic-
I if.erai'.ure.
FIF.[.D F.XPI.ORATION AND LABORATORY TSSTiNC
A field evaluation was performed on
7-9-96, and consisted of a site reconnaissance by ottr• geotechni-
cal personnel and the drilling of 3 shallow exploration bcr•ings.
These shallow exploration ho rings were drilled along the north ~'
embankment crest, near the locations indicated on tt,e Bor•irrg
Location Plar.. The exploration borings were located to obtain a
rex::onabl.y good profile of tLe subsurface soil conditions. ,\Il
expl~~ration l;orings were drilled using a C"fE •FS-B, truck mounted
drill rig with continuous flight auger to depths of apProxrmately
16 tc 21 feet. Samples were taken with a standard al,lit spoon
