LUn~; <br />Grand Junction, CO 81506 Division Director <br />R8: 8emi-Annual Bench Hydrologic Monitoring; Blue Ribbon Mine; <br />Permit No. C-B1-047 <br />Dear Mr. Stover; <br />The Division has reviewed the results of hydrologic monitoring on <br />the mine bench at the Blue Ribbon Mine. The results are for the <br />first quarter of 1994. The Division has made the following <br />observations regarding this report: <br />* The results for the north underdrain are fairly <br />consistent with previous years, except the flow has <br />decreased from past years. <br />* The flow in the south underdrain has also decreased over <br />time. <br />* Conductivity has increased in the south underdrain during <br />the first part of 1994, which may be due to the decrease <br />in flow for the same period. Conductivity has not <br />reached .the historical high of 5300 umhos/cm. <br />* The water level in P-1 continues to fluctuate seasonally. <br />* The water level in P-3 had been consistent in the past. <br />But for the last year there has been a decline in water <br />level and was sampled dry during June 1994. P-3 is <br />located below and to the south of the large slump that <br />occurred in March 1993. The decline in water level may <br />be due to the slump; however, this trend did not occur <br />following the previous slump which occurred in 1989. <br />* The water level in P-4 experience its highest level in <br />June 1993. <br />* The water level in P-5 continues its upward trend. <br />* There is no data for P-6 as it was destroyed during the <br />
