Also attached are
the Biomonitoring reports from the SeaCrest Group dated January 26, 2005 (SIC), but, actually for
January 26, 2006, for Outfa11017. The dates correspond to Year 2006 throughout the report, just not
on the first page.
The dischazge from Outfa11017, is experiencing high alkalinity values resulting in failure of the
biomonitoring tests in Daphnia magna populations.
The tests show, for this"fast quarter 2006, the fish populations and Daphnia magna populations passed
the biomonitoring tests. There was spontaneous disappeazance of the alkalinity issue that we have
experienced in the past. The new NPDES (CDPS) Permit requires the effects of the TDS be accounted
for in subsequent testing. The report details the results of the tests. Comprehensive analyses of the 017
Discharge Point water show that the alkalinity is not masking some other source of toxicity.
Should you or your staff have questions or need additional information concerning these Dischazge
Monitoring Reports, please contact me at (970) 929-2238.
S' ce ely, ~ /
"' " - .
enry B e
Enviro ental Engineer
Enclosures; NPDES Forms (DMRs) for 1st Quarter 2006
cc: Tom Kaldenbach - CDMG
K.
