In this
regard, TerraCon, our map maker, informed me today that he will have the calculations
for the average gradient and vegetative cover to me by the latter part of next week.
Yesterday, I received from the U.S.F. S. the soils types, absorption and porosity data.
With the foregoing, 1 will get together with our engineer, John Ferguson, of Durango,
and work out the peak flows for the two year event.
2) Forest Service survey parcels. I have made application with the U.S.F.S. to purchase or
trade for the 4 acres of survey parcels in the Monarch Quarry claims group. Their
archeologist has looked at the property and found nothing suspicious lurking. I made a
cash offer to purchase these parcels, however, the ranger in charge of these matters has
been in Montana fighting forest fires. He is due to return at any time. With his blessing, 1
know of nothing further to hold this up.
3) [ have a signed agreement with the Upper Arkansas Water Conservancy District to
lease .5 acre feet of water to supply the quarry with its water needs. With an agreement to
disperse the standing water on the premises, the State Water Engineer has stated in
writing that he is satisfied with the situation.
