The oral notification was made via telephone to the Water <br />Quality Control Dir•ision on Tuesday, December 17, 2002 at approximately 10:30 am by Tonya <br />Hammond. During this conversations I expressed our belief that an error had occurred tither in <br />the lab or at the time of collecting the water sample. <br />The monthly water sample taken from Outfal1016 on November 13, 2002 was sent to <br />Commercial Testing & Engineering for analysis of Total Iron (TFe), Total Suspended Solids <br />(TSS) and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) . The analysis report for this sample was received via <br />mail on December 16, 2002. Upon review of the results is was noted that the TFe was 1 I mg/L. <br />The sample was re-analyzed on December 17, 2002 and results again came back at l 1 mg1L. The <br />monthly water sample for December had previously been sent to CT&cE on December 4, 2002. <br />TFe results from this sample, .13 mg/L, was mceived via telephone on December 13'". I took a <br />water sample at Outfall 016 on Decembec 17" and requested Soltesco, Inc. run a "quick" test for <br />TFe. A colorimetric analysis was performed and the sample was found to contain .06 mg/L Fc. <br />Outfall 016 began discharging during April 2002. Since that date there has been no history of <br />high iron content. The highest results received at this outfall, until November's results, was .l2 <br />ms~'L. The water has constantly run clear with no signs of discoloration. 'There is no reason we <br />
