longitudinal slope of about 3.7%. These slope should be adjusted as future fill is placed
on the pile. This will facilitate proper drainage without erosion.
The waste pile design calls for a fill density of Jb% of the maximum dry density.
Geotechnical tests pertormed near the end of June showed that the placement densities
were equal to or greater than the design values.
The reclamation plan calls for a underdrain beneath the waste pile. The existing
underdrain will be connected to a new drain that will extend up valley to the top of the
pile. King Coal should locate the end of the existing drain and make plans for the
construction of the connecting structure with the new drain as per the reclamation plan.
Except for the items mentioned above the fill on the waste pile has been constructed as
specified in the design approved by the Division of Minerals and Geology.
