Other than one bare spot of ditch sideslope, the diversion is <br />barely visible from Highway 1~•. Northern proposes tq add <br />topsoil, seed and mulch to this bare spot. The spot is located <br />where the ditch traverses the knob between the office area and <br />the portal area. <br />S. An area of approximately ~v acres drains into the gulch .above <br />the Rienau # 2 belt portal. All of this ground is steeper th~;r~ <br />~H:iV. The gulch to be re-established in the dirt:rbed e:rea will <br />be restored to its original grade of approximately ~O%:. If the <br />diversion is removed, a strong thundershower will cause <br />significant erosion in the gulch, thus treatening the reclaimed <br />slopes. <br />A plan view of the ditch has been enclosed, in addition to.a <br />typical cross section.
