About 50 percent of the
area is Columbine soils, 30 percent Stapleton soils, and the remaining
20 percent is soils of minor extent.
The Columbine soil is on the nearly level to gently sloping alluvial
terraces and fans and contains more gravel than the Stapleton soil. .The
Stapleton soil is on the gently eloping to strongly sloping areas.
The minor soils in this area are the somewhat excessively drained
~, ~ Blakeland and Ellicott soils and the well drained Blendon, Louviers,
and Truckton soils. Also some IIstic Torrifluvents, loamy and
F7uveutic Haplaquolls, nearly level are included.
Most of this soil area is in native grass and used for grazing
livestock.
