Box 980
Carbontlale, Colorado 81623
(303) 963-3d40
Denver Orrice: Suite 2300
410 Seventeenth Slreel
Denver, Colorado 80202
(303) 825-1966
July 31, 1984
Enclosed you will find three copies of the mine inflow studies
for the North Thompson Creek No. 1 and No. 3 mines. These studies
were done in June of 1984. As you will note, the inflows have
increased for both mines when compared to the November 1983 studies.
However, most of the increased inflows seem to be from faults and
• not near the creek areas of the mine. This suggests that the in-
creased inflows are due to the high snowmelt we experienced this
year. I expect that we will soon see a decrease in these flows
as the summer progresses.
As you will note, there is some error in each of these studies
when you compare the mine inflow rate with the discharge rate.
This is due to the difficulty of estimating small inflows over
large areas. I believe that the amount of error with these studies
is acceptable.
If you have any questions or comments concerning these studies,
please feel free to contact me here at the mine office.
Sincerely,
Scott nes
Environmental Engineer
SJ:mgc
Enclosures
•
