Crick:
flew Castle Energy Corporation is pleased to submit herewith the
Revised Permit Application for Coal t7ining in Colorado at the
Coal Ridge No. 1 [tine near New Castle, Garfield County, Colorado.
The revised permit reflects several major changes in the
originally proposed mine plan, primarily in the area of refuse
handling and disposal. In-mine disposal of the refuse is both
technically, economically and, most importantly, environmentally
more suitable and preferable for the mine site than the pre-
viously proposed impoundment.
New Castle Energy Corporation has also updated the entire exist-
ing permit information to reflect the changes in disposal
methods, past Cf1LRD comments and various Technical Revisions.
The company has also taken the opportunity to upgrade all figures
and text to provide a consistent and more readable document.
The Revised Permit Application contains several commitments made
by the company that will be executed as operations resume at the
mine site. A summary of the more significant commitments are as
follotrs:
New Castle Ener Cor oration .7625 East Naha Place Denver, CO. 80237
9Y n tel: '~:, 779 5901 fax 30^-, ~°n 366?
