[NVIRONMENT, INC. ~ PAGE 3
JULY 22, $Q01 ~ ~ -
source. The monthly recap sheet and Table D2 -column 5 will be {teed to calculate the
amount of water needed based on the amount of lake sued aeet< that exists in any given
month.
Tables A2 thnt C2 are based on this information,
I. Nu more Uri 2a acres of take :uea will exist during dewatering operations.
2. Burlington-Wellington Ditch shares will be used as irrigation season makeup water
temporazily until Denver Water Department takes over the mine after 2006.
3 From the Little Burlington ditch to the river is 2.25 miles:
4. FRICO shares from Stanley Lake will be used as make up water during the non-
irrigation season temporarily until Denver water takes over the mine after 2006.
Water will be delivered via Big Dry Creek that enters the river 5 miles north of this
mine. Copies of the FRICO shares are attached for you; file.
5. The distance from Stanley Lake to mouth of Big Dry Creek and South Platte River
is 22.5 miles.
6. Transportation loss factor used is 0.2546 per mile
Table A2 is the recap sheet for this mine where the unit numbers are multiplied by 25
acres to get ac-inches. Column 5 then sums columns 2, 3, 8c 4 tq show total evaporation
losses. Columns 5 Bc 6 are from Table F2, and column 7 sums 5 8c 6 and converts to acre-ft.
It has data from Table B2, from Table C2, from Table D2 and from Exhibit 1. The last
column of this tables shows the amount of water delivered each month to the river.
Our plan is to operate the mine under Scenario Two, accounting for actual Take area
and makeup water supply using the monthly recap sheet. If dewatering stops then your office
would be contacted and advised that the source of makeup water has shifted from Suburban's
water sources to Denver Water Department water. Thanks for your help and please call me if
you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Environment, Inc
~~.~ ~
Stevan L.
