Ge~y <br />Getty Oil Company I 23385 Routt County Roao 33, Oak Greek, Colorado 80a67 • Telephone (303) 879-~26 <br />• <br />December 16, 1983 <br />Sandy Emrich <br />Mined Land Reclamation Division <br />423 Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />Dear Sandy: <br />In accordance with feasibility studies to develop Getty Coal reserves in <br />Twentymile Park and fulfill the requirements of Section 2.04.11 of the <br />Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining, a <br />meeting was held at Getty's Middle Creek -office on November 16, 1983. <br />Representatives from the Colorado Division of 4ildlife, U.S. Fish and 'dildlife <br />Service and Bureau of Land Management were in attendance. Representatives from <br />the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division and the Office of Surface Mining <br />were unable to attend, but requested a-copy of the results of the meeting for <br />their review. _ <br />• Six (6) items of wildlife concern were identified during the meeting. It <br />was concluded that if these items were addressed and study on them conducted, <br />requirements of Section 2.04.11 would be satisfied. We would appreciate your <br />prompt review of these 6 items a5 listed below in order to verify their <br />completeness and avoid confusion over additional wildlife concerns and last <br />minute requests for additional wildlife information. <br />SAGc' GROUS'c <br />1. Continued monitoring and protection of sage grouse leks. <br />2. Conduct field vegetation studies in conjunction with snow depth <br />analysis on sagehrush to determine where critical winter range for <br />sage grouse exists. <br />SANOHILL CRANE <br />Conduct spring nesting survey of sandhill cranes. <br />r~ <br />U <br />
