Gaudreault, Big G Gravel Pit (File No. M-2006-081) (CHS #49368)
Dear Ms. Gonima:
Thank you for your correspondence dated December 26, 2006 (received by our office on January 1,
2007) concerning the permit listed above.
A search of the Colorado Cultural Resource Inventory indicated that no surveys for cultural resources
have been conducted in the proposed permit area and no cultural resource sites are known to be located
within the proposed permit area. However, our files contain incomplete information for this area, as
most of Colorado has not yet been inventoried for cultural resources. As a result, there is the possibility
that as yet unidentified cultural resources exist within the permit area.
Should human remains be discovered during mining activities, the requirements under State law CRS
24-80 part 13 apply and must be followed.
Please note that our review of your project is expedited when you indicate the extent of the proposed
permit area on a legible portion of the appropriate and clearly identified 7.5 minute USGS
topographic map.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment. If we may be of further assistance, please contact Greg
Wolff, Compliance Coordinator, at (303) 866-4674.
Sincerely,
eorgianna Contiguglia
tate Historic Preservation Officer
GC/GA W
