<br />Warning and informational signs wi..bl also be installed. <br />Potential hazards in the public access areas will be <br />mitigated as necessary by their removal, modification, or <br />warning. The load bearing capability of certain decks wi_11 be <br />evaluated for it's intended use, and by a Professional <br />Engineer if necessary. <br />The opening of the facility to the public will in manX cases <br />require a more stringent safety requirement than permissible <br />under MSHA regulations. The Society has access to assistance <br />from various other non-profit organizations as well as their <br />insurer to develop these plans. <br />In any even, the public will not be allowed access to ar~sas <br />that pose a significant safety or health threat, unless 'the <br />hazard has been mitigated. In addition the public will be <br />accompanied by a trained guide in most areas. <br />3. General Aealth and Safety Issues <br />The Mayflower Mill property is now fenced along the public <br />road preventing normal vehicular and pedestrian access. 'T'his <br />fence and gate will be maintained. All doors will be locked <br />and open holes/windows etc will 6e secured. Security lighting <br />will be installed on the grounds once the power system is <br />restored. <br />The existing transformers, though certified PCB free are too <br />large for Society use. The Society has an agreement to sell <br />the transformers and replace them with smaller ones furnished <br />by the San Miguel Power Association. <br />Fencing at the old power house and mule barn will be kept <br />intact.
