These values reflect mixing with the upper two zones; however, the
• relative proportions suggest these values are representative of this
zone. The sample was sent to a laboratory for analysis.
The deep zone was briefly tested by air lifting for two hours and by
measuring recovery (Exhibit 4). Although not a rigorous test, a
transmissivity value of 1,684 gpd per foot was calculated by the
Jacob Straight Line method (Exhibit 4).
HOLE N0. M-3
Drilling
This hole was drilled on May 6 to a total depth of 100 feet and
completed as shown in Figure 3. Because of the limited available
space for drilling, Hole No. M-3 is located about 10 to 15 feet east
of Hole No. M-2. Total flow from the 87 feet was 2.5 to 3 gpm, which
is much less than that encountered at the same level in Hole No. M-2.
•
Testing and Sampling
Hole No. M-3 was slug tested on May 8. This test resulted in a
transmissivity value of less than 100 gpd per foot (Exhibit 5). All
data did not plot as a straight line, suggesting the hole is in need
of further development (Ferris and Knowles, 1963). However, this may
be due to clogging of the aquifer adjacent to the hole by cement from
Hole No. M-2 as noted above.
A brief pumping test also yielded a transmissivity value less than 100
gpd per foot (Exhibit 6).
•
