• 5.0 SURFACE-WATER 9UALITY
Samples were collected from sites S1, S3, 001, 002, 003, 005
and 006 during the 1990 mine year. Results of the analyses
performed on these samples is presented in Table C-1. The more
frequently measured parameters are presented in the first 22 pages
with the less frequent measured parameters on the last two pages.
Sites 008. 009, 010 and 011 had no flow during the 1990 Year,
therefore, no data are presented.
5.1 TSS
Figures C-8, C-10, C-12, C-14. C-16 and C-18 present plots of
total suspended solids (TSSI versus time for the sites S1. 001.
002. 003. 005 and 006, respectively. Plots of flow versus TSS are
• presented in Figures C-9, C-11, C-13, C-15, C-17 and C-19.
Figure C-8 presents TSS versus time for site S1 (Flume Gulchl.
TSS values were below 100 mg/1 with the exception of the late May
TSS value of 2008 mg/1 and the mid December TSS value of 222 mg/1.
This data shows that significant TSS values can be produced
naturally from low flows at this site. Figure C-9 presents the
1990 TSS data versus flow.
Sites 001, 002. 003, 005 and 006 were normally observed to
have TSS values generally below 50 mg/1 with one value from site
001 (104 mg/1, early March at site 001). two values from site 002
and one value from site 006 above 50 mg/1 during the .1990 mine
year. The sedible solids were less than 0.2 ml/hr .when these
higher TSS values were observed. These values did not differ much
• from past values presented on Figures C-10, C-'?, C-14, C-16 and C-
18 respectively. The flow versus TSS relationships are presented
5-1
