the backfill water will initially be slightly alkaline with a pH
slightly less than 8. Well GF6 contains water with a pH near the
neutral. Backfill well GF7, completed in September 1987, has
shown pH values near neutral in 1990, Backfill well GF11 was
installed in July 1988 and pH of this backfill aquifer is slightly
below neutral.
Well GP1 has water with pH values above neutral, while well
GP2 water is generally near neutral. The pH values for wells GP3
and GP4 have shown little change for water collected from the HI
and KLM aquifers, respectively. Well GP3 has had pH values near
neutral, while values for well GP4 have been slightly less than 9.
Wells GP5 and GP6 are completed in the QR aquifer. The pH
• values from well GP5 were at an average value of 8.6 while the pH
from well GP6 is near neutral.
HI aquifer well GP7 has typically had water with pH values
slightly above 7. Well GPB is completed in the KLM aquifer and
has water with a pH of near 8. Third White Sandstone aquifer well
GP9 pH values are typically near 7.
The alluvial (P1), Lewis Shale (P3), Second White (P5), and
Third White Sandstone (P8) aquifers in Pyeatt Gulch all contain
water with a pH that generally is slightly above 7.
The 1990 values for well J1 were near neutral. The 1990 pH
• value for the COY well was at neutral. The ph values for well 81-
• 03a have been near 8.5. The pH. values for .the GLUX-1 well are
above neutral.
3-11
