• <br />Water levels in the GF wells are tabulated in Tables A-4, A- <br />5 and A-6 of Appendix A. Wells GF1 and GF3 are flowing wells, <br />while the casing on well GF2 was extended in 1985 so it is no <br />longer a flowing well. Figure A-14 shows the water-level <br />elevations in the Twentymile Sandstone at GF1. Water levels had <br />shown little change since August 1987. Water levels in well GF1 <br />declined in early 1989 by approximately eight feet and have shown <br />a recovery since then to a final 1990 level above those observed in <br />1987. Water levels were gradually increasing in well GF2 (see <br />Figure A-15) until mid-1987 when the levels declined in 1989. The <br />water levels in the second half of 1990 are similar to the 1989 <br />values. The decline in the water levels is probably due to the <br />• lower precipitation the last few years. The water levels had risen <br />at a fast rate in the KLM aquifer in this area through 1987 (see <br />Figure A-16, well GF3). Water levels appear to have stabilized <br />during 1988. The 1989 and 1990 water levels have been fairly <br />stable. Water levels in well GF4 continued to rise until June, <br />1987 and remained steady until December 1987 when levels rose for <br />the first three quarters of 1988. Levels remained steady for the <br />remainder of 1988 and showed only a slight rise in 1989 and 1990 <br />(see Figure A-17). Most of the recent water-level fluctuation in <br />the KLM and HI aquifers at the GF wells is thought to be caused by <br />the upgradient mining releasing ground water along with recovery <br />and stabilization from mine' dewatering. Present levels may be <br />. close to pre-mine levels. <br />2-9 <br />
